This group is a continuation of the Mindfulnes-Based-Stress-Reduction (MBSR) program developed by Dr. Jon Kabat Zinn. We will elaborate on the following themes:
- Success
- Intimacy
- Gratitude & joy
- Self-esteem
- Communication & assertiveness
- Impact of our thoughts & feelings
Formal meditation practices from the MBSR program will continue. There is a requirement to continue daily practice. Three new audio files which include “Meditation on Thoughts and Feelings”, “Loving Kindness Meditation” and “Guided Visualizations” are provided. These guided meditations will be incorporated into the weekly homework. You will be given a gratitude journal to record on a daily basis those things that have brought you a feeling of gratitude. New yoga postures and breathing techniques are introduced. In the self-reflective homework, you will focus more on your strengths, gifts, and creativity, opening to “receive your future” all the while practicing being here now!
